I'm sure most of you know by now that we're leaving to move to MA Saturday morning...after a stressful, anxiety-inducing wait to find out where we'd end up. We are getting every last scrap of our lives packed up into various sized boxes to load on the rental truck in tomorrow, yes TOMORROW! I am a little nervous about getting everything done...having two sick girls for the past ELEVEN days has been rough. Getting anything done has been quite the task, although they have been better than average for girls with colds who can hardly breathe out of their noses. Sophia is definitely on the track to healing (although a low-grade fever did come back today for most of the day) but Stella's cold is only slowly creeping away. I talked to the doctor's office yesterday and they said the thick green gunk coming out of her nose NON-STOP will probably last another few days. YUCK! She has been in good spirits, for the most part, but can not be too comfortable having me wipe her nose with a tissue 10 times an hour (although it was down to about 5 times an hour this morning and maybe 1 time an hour this afternoon). It's a good thing for her that we buy the nice, soft, expensive tissues with lotion in them, and have a supply of about 7 extra boxes under the bed! Her nose is red, but could be much worse with something not-so-soft.
I've met some really nice people (albeit very briefly) this week due to freecycling lots of great things. I can't believe how many people contacted me for a mower, edger, seeder, rocking chair, couch, arm chair, hose, tv stand and bar stools. Who knew there were HUNDREDS of people just in the Greenville area who would contact me in a matter of three days for those things....at least everything seemed to go to good homes. We're hoping after getting rid of those things we'll surely have room in the truck for all the other stuff. We want to get rid of our mattresses, too, but I'm not sure anyone will want old mattresses. I'm going to post anyway, but maybe we'll just have to take them to the dump. I feel good about giving my things away. Some are really old, but used with love and still in great condition for someone else. I feel good giving my things away to people that so obviously need them. I know that someday, the good deed with come back to me in some way, shape or form.
Now I'm off to pack, pack, pack...the little odds and ends and then things you use every day are the worst things. There are some things I can't pack until the bitter end and they just hang around bugging me! By tomorrow night I will feel much better, with my entire life packed on a nice, big Budget truck headed North. At least I'll feel organized once again! Hopefully we'll get some sleep tonight......
